Every morning you’ll hear me at it again.
Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life
On your altar
And watch for fire to descend.
Psalm 5 MSG
And here I am, your invited guest—
I enter your house; here I am,
Prostrate in your inner sanctum,
Waiting for directions
To get me safely through enemy lines.
–Psalm 5 MSG
But you, GOD, shield me on all sides;
You ground my feet, you lift my head high,
With all my might I shout up to GOD,
His answers thunder from the holy mountain.
Psalm 3 MSG
Could I give thanks all day long if I tried hard enough? I have a pretty good life, living in America. But even here the clouds are gray at times, and downright tragic other days. We can’t give up hope as long as God gives grace to us…and He never stops.
I’m so thankful that when I blunder that there is no physical mark on me that says: stupid, inconsiderate, unfeeling, or prejudiced. Even so, my heart hurts to have it undone, taken back.
At church yesterday, I heard the word grace described as ‘God leaning‘ towards us. In turn we thank Him, and it is as if we are leaning back.
This week as we give thanks, let us lean towards others with love, kindness, and careful words.
