Believe

In the month of October I will be linking up with other writers on Five Minute Friday for thirty-one days. Each day I will write about one word for five minutes. Here goes…

Can we believe that everything God does is good for us every day of our lives? That’s a tough one. I am not the only person who struggles with that question, and on any given day you may question it.  Depending on how your life is going, you could be crushed and not believe at all.

Possibly you had a bad night’s sleep, serious health problems, loss of your job, or  loss of a loved one.

Is there someone in your family with a mental illness, or Alzheimer’s? Can you find help from anyone? Do you feel lost and alone?

Where do you go?

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, as we see in Proverbs 12:25 (NASB). The rest of the verse says, but a good word makes it glad. Read the Word and believe that all God does in your life is good. It’s hard, but it’s the truth.

Lord, help my unbelief.

Belief and faith is all we have to support us when something bad happens. When my first husband was dying of lung cancer, each day I went to the hospital chapel to pray for more strength. There was a Catholic nun who came in and sat with me. As I look back, I know it was the only way I survived without falling apart. He held me up, Now when I have something difficult or bad happening. He is the first place I go. I let him handle my concerns. I believe, I have faith because that is what the Bible tells us. It is all the truth.
