In the month of October I will be linking up with other writers on Five Minute Friday for thirty-one days. Each day I will write about one word for five minutes. Here goes…
I pause each morning with a cup of coffee and read the Word. Today I was reading about David in Psalm 63. He took time to praise God while in the wilderness.
David paused during his day, even though he was the top man in charge of his soldiers. They faithfully followed him.
Pausing is a helpful habit.
When we pause we are able to take a breath and clear our heads, our spirits and concentrate on what is before us. Whether we are calm, or in panic mode at the start of our day, a pause re-sets us.
The modern trend of being mindful brings this to light. It is something like the art or concentration of being aware of your surroundings and what your body, soul and spirit need. I like to think that I concentrate more on being mindful of Christ, than being mindful for selfish reasons.
I like to call it: keep a sharp eye.
Pause during each day and rest. Be aware of the divine spark within you. Pause, take a breath, think of God and be blessed.
