Common

In the month of October I will be linking up with other writers on Five Minute Friday for thirty-one days. Each day I will write about one word for five minutes. Here goes…

I love birds. I love to feed them, and watch them.
The sparrow is thought of as a common bird, but is it because of the dull browns, or the countless numbers of them? When you study the sparrow, you find they come in different sizes and color markings. They are songbirds that perch, and each one has it’s own song.  They do not fight for territory, but they will fight to protect their nest.

Matthew 10:29   Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.

Why does God care when a sparrow falls?

Like the common sparrow, we may think we are commonly human. Many times I think I am another ordinary person writing to express thoughts, but knowing there are much greater thoughts in cyber space than mine.
Do my words matter? Are my words read by anyone? Do I put in my time and see it dismissed?

Luke 12:6
, 7

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God.

Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.

God thinks so, and he says he knows when a sparrow falls. Doesn’t that make the difference? He cares about a tiny bird that may never been seen by a human,

But we are loved by a greater love than this.

He is always watching out for you. Believe it. Take comfort in it.
