In the month of October I will be linking up with other writers on Five Minute Friday for thirty-one days. Each day I will write about one word for five minutes. Here goes…

Yesterday I wrote about the word start, and today I’m’ talking about my need for help.

I procrastinated about enlarging my photos and putting them in frames for First Friday event. I have never displayed my art in my whole life. In fact, I put it off for months because I was afraid of doing a “good enough” job.

I am only an amateur and why should I try? Because a friend wanted me to display my photos in her salon. She had to ask me several times over a year, and finally my two daughters encouraged me to try it one time. It’s fear of failure, or too much pride. Either way, I had trouble starting, and then needed help.

The same happened when I started my blog in 2011. I think my daughters encouraged me for a year before I finally took a chance and set up a blog. Now I have used up so much space on my free blog I had to take several years off, and my blog space is nearly full again. Now what?

I need help to decide what’s next. The next thing will cost money. Just as enlarging photos, buying frames and taking time to set up the gallery.

I have such great help from my husband, daughters and friends. But why do human beings hate to ask for help?  We don’t like to look vulnerable; we want to look strong.

That’s where we are wrong. Just yesterday my husband preached on how God uses our weakness to make us strong. If we don’t trust him for help, we will eventually fail.

Don’t you want the best help from the one who knows best? After all, he’s the creator of the universe.
