Burden

It’s Friday and I’m linking up at Five Minute Friday…

Good things can easily become a burden. The first thing I think of is too much of something:

Food

TV

Travel

Being with friends

Family

Too much sunshine

Too much exercise

Too much money

I probably have an extra amount of grandchildren, since I have six children. It is not a bad thing, but when trials come, and these loved ones carry burdens, I am so likely to carry the burden beyond them. Keeping track of all this can be overwhelming.

I won’t sleep at night when they have stress, make hard decisions, or deal with sorrow. I use my ability to pray after the emotion of taking the burden, and by the time I am cried out, worn out…I remember. Honestly, you would think I’d have learned that lesson by now.

The truth is…I can’t fix anything!

With this knowledge and Sun Deficit on my mind this fall, I have researched some scriptures for encouragement. Not only will I read them once, but read them aloud and over and over…all winter.

Here is an over all good for you verse:

“Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.”

1 Thess. 5:16-18 Msg.
